Gary McQuaid, Operations Manager
Gary McQuaid is a commercial diver with over 11 years of experience in assessment and construction. Gary holds his DCBC unrestricted surface supply certification and his experience includes work at hydroelectric facilities, pulp mills, ports, ship terminals and foreshore industrial facilities. Gary has participated in commercial dive operations including salvage, pier construction, pipeline inspection/maintenance, reservoir diving and scientific surveys.
Gary is our lead diver and manages the operational side of Valard Dive Services, including project logistics and equipment support, dive safety and dive planning.
Sam Blair, MSc., Senior Manager, Valard Environment and Dive Services
Sam brings over 15 years of experience in project planning, environmental assessment, and regulatory permitting to the team. Sam has extensive experience with respect to planning and executing major projects in infrastructure development across Canada. Sam provides overall project management for Valard Dive Services, including the coordination and delivery of specialized services such as GIS, survey and mapping, biological and benthic sampling and analysis, video production, monitoring, technical reporting and more.
Sam also manages Valard's Environment Division and is supported by a team of professional biologists and environmental technicians and works closely with Valard Geomatics to provide additional project services as required.
